Water-based epoxy floor paint is an epoxy resin floor material that uses water as a dissolved substance.
Epoxy resin floors have stable performance, beautiful decorative effects, and extremely high adhesion to the substrate. The cured coating film has good corrosion resistance, small film shrinkage, high hardness, excellent electrical insulation properties, no pollution, and meets environmental protection requirements. It is widely used in industrial floors, commercial and civil buildings, and other floors.
Its construction technology is as follows:
Ⅰ. Construction preparation and on-site working conditions
1. No cross-cutting operations shall be arranged at the construction site except for ground construction. The storage place for construction raw materials should be kept dry, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and the temperature should be maintained at 15-35°C.
2. Construction environment, the temperature is not less than 5°C, the optimal temperature is 15~30°C, and the humidity is not more than 80%.
3. The construction site requires adequate lighting.
Ⅱ. Requirements for concrete base
Ground conditions have a great impact on the quality of the final epoxy flooring project. If the ground condition does not meet the requirements, it will be difficult to complete the epoxy project, and phenomena such as crusting, shedding, and blistering often occur during the use of the epoxy floor. Therefore, good substrate conditions are the prerequisite to ensure the quality of epoxy flooring. The requirements for concrete substrates for epoxy resin floors are as follows:
1. The base layer must be a reinforced concrete structure with a strength grade of not less than C25.
2. The base layer should be surfaced with original pulp and polished by machine to achieve smoothness.
3. The concrete floor base treatment requires at least 28 days of curing time in summer and an appropriate extension in winter.
4. A moisture-proof layer must be installed under the base layer, and the moisture content of the base layer must be less than 8%.
5. During construction, the surface of the base layer should be kept clean and no pollutants are allowed. All contaminants such as fat, grease, paint residue, chemicals and laitance must be removed.
Ⅲ. Construction process
1. Base surface treatment
Use a professional floor grinder to remove the loose surface of the floor and vacuum it. In order to ensure the flatness of the ground and the use of the ground, all cracks and uneven places on the ground should be filled and leveled with cement patching materials.
2. Bottom coating
After the base layer is repaired, apply primer on the premise of ensuring that the base surface is dry and free of open water. The function of the primer is to prevent dust and fix sand, improve the strength of the ground and the adhesion of the floor paint. This step directly determines the effect of the floor paint.
3.Top coating
After the primer is fully cured, apply the topcoat. When applying, apply from top to bottom, from left to right, and roll vertically and horizontally to ensure that there are no leaks, no hangs, and a uniform paint film. After the first coat of topcoat is dry, continue to apply the second coat of topcoat until the paint film is evenly covered. The topcoat can beautify the decoration and provide impact resistance.
4. Clear coating
Applying varnish is also an indispensable part of floor paint construction, which can increase the wear resistance and anti-fouling properties of the floor paint. It is worth noting that after each process, at least 2-6 hours of drying time should be reserved. Only thorough curing can extend the service life of the floor paint.
Ⅳ. On-site cleaning and maintenance
After completion, the relevant construction materials and tools will be moved away from the site, and the finished surface will be tightly sealed and protected. People will not be allowed to enter and walk after at least 24 hours. Do not bring in sediment. It usually takes 7 days for the paint film to fully cure. During this period, other construction, transportation, and installation should be avoided.
